Brandon Meeks Quintet

Sponsored by The Perfect Brew

For nearly 20 years Brandon Meeks has been a vibrant part of both Cincinnati and Indianapolis’ soulful and eclectic music communities. As a bass player he’s created countless compelling live music experiences with many artists in the city’s jazz scene as well as with many national artists. Over the years he’s appeared at It’s Commonly Jazz with greats such as Ralph Peterson, Mike Wade, Tim Warfield, William Menefield and more.

Meeks has had the good fortune of also working with noteworthy creative minds across the genres of jazz, hip-hop and film such as Don Cheadle, Robert Glasper, Black Milk and Thundercat. Currently Brandon has teamed up with a new collective of exciting regional musicians from Indy, Chicago and Cincinnati to explore musical ideas inspired by modern jazz and hip-hop visionaries like Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove and Madlib.

The group combines the style of classic straight-ahead jazz with a 21st century streetwise aesthetic and is guaranteed to uplift, inspire, and entertain all who experience the music. You want to hear them whenever and wherever.
